La Jolla Accident Passenger Identified
On Saturday, March 29, 2014 the passenger that was riding in a Mercedes-Benz and was killed after the driver of the Benz had lost control of the vehicle was identified as a ninety-one local man.
The elderly man, Samuel Mayo Rinaker Jr. had sadly died at the scene of the accident. The accident happened at the intersection of La Jolla Scenic Drive and Soledad Mountain Road. It happened a little after one o’clock in the afternoon on Friday, March 28, 2014.
The driver of the 1993 Mercedes-Benz sedan was a 57 year old, Samuel was the passenger in the vehicle. According to the San Diego Police and the county Medical Examiner’s office, the driver had lost control of the vehicle for unknown reason and kept going northbound on the La Jolla Scenic Drive.
Authorities reported that the Mercedes had hit a curb at the Soledad Mountain Road. It then collided with a new, 2014 Mercedes and then after the collision with the 2014 Mercedes hit a light post.
The emergency workers ended up taking the two drivers of the Mercedes vehicles to the local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries to be treated.
